You Fought…
You Fought the Good Fight!
One of the things that is greatly affected by the pandemic is education. For more than a year now, students have shifted to modules and online classes, from the regular face to face classroom setting. In the Philippines, it’s very difficult because many families do not have laptops or even an internet connection. When the pandemic hit, many students struggled to have their online classes by using only a smart phone. Aside from the distractions of studying at home, learning is often disrupted by poor internet connection, as many of them are using only mobile data which is another extra bill to pay. It has been a challenging year for everybody – teachers, students and parents alike. In the St. John Scholarship Program, we try to lessen the students’ burden a little bit, by providing our scholars a place conducive for learning. In the Scholarship Center they can use computers for their classes, or they can stay in study room where they can do their modules. They also help one another, as older students try to tutor the younger ones.
We noticed the great effort exerted by our graduating students. Of course their anxieties are doubling. There is always this apprehension at the back of their mind: “Will I graduate or not?” “Are we even having a graduation ceremony?” “What will happen next?” However, amidst all odds, we are happy to still see students getting their diplomas, earning their degrees and even getting honors.
This year, the St. John Scholarship Program is proud to present the graduates of School Year 2020 – 2021:

To all our graduates, we have witnessed how you have labored and worked hard especially this year. It was not at all easy. But with the grace of God, and with the help of the brothers, your fellow scholars, ate Bella, your family and friends, and especially your will to succeed, you made it till the end! Indeed, as St. Paul would say, “you have fought the good fight…and finished the race!”
You truly deserve it! Congratulations for a great job!
