What will happen to me if I enter the Congregation of the Brothers of Saint John?

Just be a Normal Person with a Religious Habit.

We are expecting from you to be an ordinary person who wants to follow Jesus as much as you can. The Brothers of Saint John are like anybody, but with the difference that externally they wear a habit, and interiorly they chose to answer Jesus’ particular call. We expect from you to be yourself, to love Jesus as a poor person and serve Him, your brothers and all the poor the Lord put in your way.

How: Just bring yourself before Jesus and speak heart to heart with Him. If you hear His call to be a Brother of Saint John, come to us as you are and we welcome you heartily.

Our Singular Grace is for Others.

If you share in the same gift of the Spirit as us, it means that Jesus expects from you to employ this gift for the Church: “each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good” (1 Cor 12: 7). The gift we received is to be made fruitful. Our joy is to enter the joy of the Lord who entrusted us this gift (Mt 25, 21). Let us share the joy together in communion with John (1Jn 1, 3-4).

How: By sharing our service to others with a grateful heart. In serving wholeheartedly, the Lord blesses us in return with more gifts (Mt 13,12). Gifts beget gifts.

Brotherhood as a Way to Glorify Jesus.

The Lord is extremely attentive to brotherly love. His last commandment for His disciples is that they
love one another as He loved them (Jn 13: 34). We consider it as our utmost priority since this is the
last will of Jesus. We want to observe His commandment so as not only to remain the servants of
Jesus, but His friends (Jn 15: 12-14).
How: We learn to pray for each other, to listen to one another, to care for each brother, to ask
forgiveness from one another, to accept that we are not perfect, but we like also to have fun together.
